On Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 7:57 am., Portland police were called to the intersection of Washington Avenue and Allen Avenue for a report of an accident.

A Portland Public School bus was stopped in the left-hand turn lane, when a tractor trailer failed to stop and struck the bus from behind.  One student  on the bus was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  At the time of the crash, there were 15 students and one driver on the bus.

The accident is still under investigation and the driver has not been cited at this time.
