“The Portland Press Herald” and  “Maine Sunday Telegram” will be moving their editorial/newsroom offices from downtown Portland, One City Center,  to their South Portand printing plant in February of 2017 according to a source familiar with the situation.  Several years ago, the sales office was moved from the first floor of the same building to the SoPo plant – so this should complete the media giant’s exit from Portland.

Staffers have been told to prepare to move their offices to another part of One City Center on short notice; before the 2017 scheduled move.  This is to make room for a new tenant who has signed on for the media giant’s offices on the top floor of the building.

A change in printing equipment at their printing plant is making this money saving move possible.

The move has not yet been made public, but it is in the works according to the source.
