The Portland Police Department has received several calls over the past few days with citizens reporting that they are receiving phone calls soliciting donations.  The callers are claiming to be from the Portland Police Department and other agencies and are attempting to collect credit card information to process the payment.

As a reminder, the Portland Police Department never solicits donations.

Never provide your credit card information to anoe who calls you that you do not know.  Criminals can claim to be fundraising from your credit card company bank and will often ask for your personal information.  Only provide necessary card information only to merchanys you’ve called directly.
