Portland Police Repond to Stabbing of Homeless Man on Portland Street Today

Portland Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Cumberland Avenue and Preble Sreet on Wedneday, June 4, 2025 at 6:04 am.  Upon arrival, police found a 41 year old homeless male with a laceration on his hand.  The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center, Portland.  He was treated and released.

Later this morning, police arrested Christopher Hodgkins, 37, homeless, charging him with Elevated Aggravted Assault and Violating Condiions of Release.
