The Portland Police Department Held a Job Fair Today at its Headquarters on Middle Street, Portland.

“We are seeing some serious applicants for the Portland Police Department and Dispatcher positions,” said David Singer, Communications Director, as of 4:00 pm this afternoon. We’ve seen at least ten applicants and several of those are lateral candidates.  Lateral candidates are from other police departments and they have already been trained according to Singer.  One of those was from out-of-state.

Singer was referring to a Portland Police Department Job Fair that was held today at the outdodor plaza at police headquarters at 109 Middle Street.  It ran from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

Zack Ryan, who is currently employed as a traffic controler, attended the job fair today to lean more about the Portland Police Department.  He said he was interested in all of what he learned today.  He said there were certain programs offered where “there are growth opporuniies” that appealed to him. Several other potential applicants expressed interest in growth opportunities at the Portland Police Deparment.

“We are pleased with the turnout so far,” said Singer as of 4:00 pm this afternoon.
