Portland Police Officers responded Wednesday at around 9:30 pm for a report of shots fired on Greenleaf Street. Officers found a 34-year-old man who had suffered serious injuries. Officers quickly administered emergency lifesaving aid to the victim. He was transported to Maine Medical Center for surgery where he remained overnight in critical condition. Witnesses reported seeing multiple males running from the scene.
“Had it not been for the quick response and aid provided by our city’s police officers and emergency medical services, we would be investigating a homicide today,” said Chief Frank Clark. “The department continues to investigate the possibility of any connections involving a number of recent shootings in the city and I’m asking the public to call or text us with any information. This violence and gun play must end.”
If anyone has any information that could assist police in this case, they are being asked to call Portland Police Department at 207 – 874-8575.
