On Tuesday, August 6, at 8:15 pm, Portland Police were called to the area of Mprrills Corner where a train reportedly struck a pedestrian.

Brett Staples, 34, of Portland, was transported to the Maine Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

The Portland Police Department and the Amtrak Railroad Police are investigating the accident and no charges have been filed at this time.    Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have informatdion to please call them at 207 – 874-8532.
