On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:28 am., Portland Police responded to the intersection of Marginal Way and Preble Street for a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
A 49 year old Portland man was struck by a vehicle operated by an 82 year old Portland man. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries shortly after arriving at Maine Medical Center. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin according to the press release issued late this afternoon by the Portland Police Department spokesman.
Members of the Portland Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and conducted a detailed investigation into the circumstances surroundig the crash. The investigation remains ongoing and no additional information is currently available. No charges have been filed at this time as the crash is under review.
