Portland Man Arrested for Theft of a Yacht at Exclusive Fore Points Marina

Jesse Drinkwader, 43, of Portland was arrested in connection with an incident at Fore Points Marina yesterday morning.

Just after 8:00 am., a yacht owner came into the Portland Police Department to report his vessel had been stolen from Fore Points Marina.  After consulting with the United States Coast Guard (USCG)  as well as the Marine Patrol, the boat was located offshore.  The USCG boarded the yacht and took Drinkwater into custody and proceeded to tow the boat back to the east end Marina.  The yacht is estimated to have at least $25,000 in damages.

The Marina is the waterfront portion of Portland Foreside Development – the redevelopment of almost ten acres of land along the Munjoy Hill waterfront.  Formerly, the property was home to Portland Yacht Services, whose owner Phineas Sprague, Jr., sold the property to the Prentice Hospitdalty Group. for its redevelopment.  Sprague relocated and expanded his boatyard to 100 West Commercial Street.

The award wining restaurant TWELVE is currently the centerpiece of the development.

The exclusive Fore Points Marina is owned by Casey Prentice of the Prentice Hospitality Group, 110 Thames Street.
