The downtown Portland Public Library at 5 Monument Square will serve as Portland’s cooling center on Friday, July 25th during its normal hours of 10:00 am – to 5:00 pm.  The city is activating a cooling center as the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for tomorrow.

Additdinally, the city urges people to take advantage of the Deering Oaks Ravine and the several splashpads around the city.  People are urged to limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of water and wear light colored clothing.  We ask that  you check on your elderly neighbors to make sure they are okay and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.
