Out of an abundance of caution, Portland High School students will learn remotely on Thursday, September 30, 2021 due to a threat on social media. All after-school activities are cancelled for Thursday as well. The threat, which has impacted another area school, does not appear to be credible, according to the Portland Police Department. Other public schools in Portland are not considered at risk and will be open as usual tomorrow, including the Portland Art and Technology (PATHS).
We are grateful to the Portland Police Department for their timely help in assessing the threat and continuing to monitor the situation to ensure student, staff and community safety when we return to school on Friday according to a press release issued by the School Department late today.
