A total of forty-four individuals associated with Portland High School have been asked to quarantine because of close contact to those with COVID-19 according to the spokeswoman for Portland Public Schools today.

Thirty-four are students and ten are staff members.  Students will attend school remotely while in quarantine.  To date, there have been no positive cases originating in the Portland Public Schools.

Last Friday, October 30, School Superintendent Xavier Botana sent a letter to Portland Public School staff and families.  In that letter only one student at Portland High School was reported to be in quarantine for close contact to the COVID-19.

No reports of the need to quarantine were reported for staff or families at East End Community School, on Munjoy Hill.
