Fire Department Responds to Second Alarm Fire on Ashlar Court

The Portland Fire Department was alerted to the repor of a structure fire at 6 Ashlar Court at 7:47 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025.  Upon arrival, companies found fire emitting fro a multi-unit, multi-multi story structure with a victim outside.  The victim had been removed from the building by a bystander.  The all-hands fire assignment was struck on arrival and a second-alarm struck at 7:52 pm as fire was spreading throughout the building with partial collapse of the building.  A search of the building ensured alla other occupants of the bilding were outdside and safe.

The fire was under control around 9:00 pm., with the last company clearing the scene at 11:53 pm.  One resident and one bystander were evaluated on scene and transported to local hospitals. No other injuries occurred to residents or firefighters.

The resident of the fire unit was displaced from the building.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
