Portland Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the perpetrator of two robberies at CVS stores in the city. In the last week, two CVS stores were robbed. The first robbery occurred around 6:50 pm Sunday, January 12th at the CVS located at the Westgate Shopping Center on Congress Street. The second robbery occurred Friday, January 17th around 7:00 pm at the CVS store in the Forest Avenue Plaza, 449 Forest Avenue.
In both robberies, the perpetrator presented a threatening note to the clerk and demanded money. He fled on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash Police believe the two robberies are connected. The suspect descriptions and actions are similar in both crimes.
The perpetrator in the most recent robbery is described as a black male in his 30s or 40s and about 6 ft. tall. He was wearing a black and white flannel shirt over a dark hoodie, jeans and tan boots
Police believe the man waited outside the store for customers to leave before he entered and committed the robbery. No one was injured and no weapon was displayed in either of the robberies. anyone with information is asked to call the Portland Police at 207-874-8575.
