54 North Street, The House Behind Which a Gunshot was Heard.

Yesterday afternoon police responded to people reporting hearing a gunshot behind 54 North Street, close to Fort Sumner Park on Munjoy Hill.  A 20 year old victim from Portland was located at Maine Medical Center.  He was treated for his injuries and has since been released.  The press release did not say how the victim arrived at the hospital – whether on his own or whether he was transported by ambulance or someone else.

A pool of blood was located on one of the trails that runs between Fort Sumner and Sheridan Street.

The incident does not appear to be a random act and at this time police do not believe the public is at risk.  If anyone has information on the incident, please call 207 – 874-8575.
