The man killed during an altercation that occurred in the area of 100 Woodford Street has been identified as 43-year-old Derald Coffin, of West Bath.

Calls to 911 dispatch were made to the Portland Regional Center just after 1:00 am on Tuesday, April 26 2022.  The callers reported hearing an arguament followed by gun shos.  Coffin was found by responding officers lying in the road in front of 107 Woodford Street.

Officers and medics from the Portland Fire Department treated him on scene and he was transported to Maine Medical Center where he was prounded dead.

A 27-year-old female was also shot during the altercation.  She was transported to the hospital where she was treated for a non-life threatening injury and released.
