A Sign Bearer at the May Day Rally in Portland Has an Important Message for President Trump and His Republican Puppets Like Caribou Collins (R).. How High Can I Jump She Wants to Know. But it’s Unclear Just Who is the Puppet Master These Days; Musk or Trump?
Yesterday Congressional Arts Co-chairs Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) and Congressman Mike Turner (R-Ohio) led more than 120 of their colleagues in urging President Trump to restore National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grant funding approved by the Congress.
The bipartisan push comes after the Trump administration canceled NEA grants to hundreds of community organizations, many of which had already begun the projects for which they had been awarded.
“Many grantees are anchors in their communities,, whether as employers and educators, prominent Main Street destinations and tourist attractions,” the lawmakers wrote. “Lost grants will hurt budgets, contract programming and may lead to layoffs – right as the critical summer season kicks off for many organzations and small businesses.”
They further explained that the NEA underpins a $1.2 mlilion cultural sector, representing 5.4 million jobs and a $36.8 billion trade surplus. ‘In short, the bang for our buck delivered by the NEA is too significant to ignore,” Pingree, Turner and their colleagues said in a letter to the President dated June 6, 2025.
“Why do you suppose the “Collins Press Herald” isn’t reporting this effort? Maybe its too woke an industry for its conservative taste,” suggests this blogger. “Rather when Caribou Collins (R), a puppet of the Trump/Musk Show, breathes, it’s a front page headline in her mouth piece paper. But the question now is, who is the Puppet Master these days? Trump or Musk?
What do you think?
