Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) will boycott President Trump’s State of the Union address and will instead join dozens of her Democratic colleagues in Congress for a rally on the National Mall.  As reported by “The New York Times,” Meidas Touch, MoveOn Civic Action, and coalition partners will host the “People’s State of the Union” on February 24 at 8:30 pm.  ET, a rally counterprogramming President Trump’s night full of lies and misplaced priorities for the American people.

The group includes numerous Senators and Representatives as well as other soon-to-be announced elected officials, leaders, and advocates.  Along with hosts Kate Phang and Joy Reid, Democratic lawmakers will be joined on stage by the everyday Americans most impacted by Trump’s dangerous agenda.

Some of the Senators attending this Counter Rally include:  Senator Ed Markey, Senator Jeff Merkley, Senator Chris Murphy, Senator Tina Smith, Senator Chris Van Hollen. The Representative attending along with Chellie Pingree include:  Rep. Yassamin Ansari, Rep. Becca Balint, Greg Casar, Veronica Escobar, Jim Himes, Sara Jacobs, Pramla Jayapal, John B. Larson, and etc.!
