It is expected that Phase 2 of a mixed use development on an acre of the former Jordan Meat Company will get underway sometime this summer said Mark Woglom, president of Opechee Construction Company, New Hampshire in a telephone conversation this afternoon. Woglom said the schedule calls for the completion of Phase 2 in the fall of 2013.

Phase 1 was completed last summer with the opening of the Hampton Inn on the Portland Waterfront. Woglom reserved the right to come back to begin developing Phase 2 at a later date.

Phase 2 plans are still preliminary, but it is expected to include 18 upscale condominium units (price range averaging at $500,000.), office building of about 60,000 sq. feet and retail space in the area of 20,000 sq. ft. On the Middle Street side, the office building will be 4 stories high and on the Fore Street side, five stories high according to Woglom.

The finalized proposal will be submitted to the planning office in early May.
