The City Council approved changes in the hourly parking rates and parking meter hours of operation as part of the recently approved Fiscal Year 2022 municipal budget.  These changes go into effect on July 1, 2026.

Parkig meter rates will increase 50 cents to $2.50/hour.  Rates in the downtown area bounded by MIddle, Pearl and Commercial Street to Union Street and all of Commercial Sreet will increase to $3.00/hour.  Parking meters will also be in effect for an additidonal hour Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.  Sundays and major holidays remain free according to a press release received this morning by the city’s spokeswoman.
