The Paper Patch, a long time business institution  on  Exchange Street in the Old Port of Portland, is for sale according to its owner, Rob Sevigny.  At least forty-two years old, the iconic business has earned a reputation in the Greater Portland  as the most complete retailer of high quality stationery and related products for the discerning consumer.

Sevigny,  the fourth and longest owner of the business, has been owner for 13 years.  He plans on retiring to his farm in the area.  “I just want to work in my garden now,” he said recently.

He describes it as a small, independent purveyor of manufacturers with focus on items made/printed in America. and the UK.  He consistently supports local businesses and artists.

Incidentally, Joe Soley, is not the landlord for this building. .
