You are invited to attend an overdose recognition and response training session on Thursday, April 13th at 5:30 pm at City Hall. The session will be held in the State of Maine room on the second floor. The event is hosted by the city’s Public Health Division.
Attendees will learn the signs and symptoms of an opiod overdose, how to respond, including the use of naloxone and the importance of activating the first responder system.
“It is our hope to engage community members, in a meaningful way and to educate and prepare them to be active bystanders in the event they witnesses an opiod overdose. We encourage local businesses owners, concerned citizens and friends and loved ones of those struggling with substance use disorders to attend,” said Bridget Rauscher, Substance Use Prevention Program Coordinator.
