The OLLI Singers is a Special Interest Group Founded & Directed For Many Years by Terry Foster.  In the Above Photo, Terry Lends a Tenor Voice to  the Tenor Section. OLLI at USM is 20 years old and members are invited to the party!  The celebration is on Thursday, September 28th at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, on Spring Street in Portland.  The party runs from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and  the cost is $20.00.   Dress is informal and comfortable!

The evening starts with a social hour and cash bar followed by a fantastic buffet.  After dinner, Terry Foster, will join some of the popular State Street Traditional Jazz Band in presenting a concert of the  “music of our lives.”  Terry will be playing the piano.  What could be more fun?

Meanwhile, everyone will have a chance to mingle, chat and share memories and good times from the first 20 years of OLLI and plan for the next 20 years!

OLLI, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, is subsidizing the celebration to make it affordable for everyone.  You must be an OLLI member to attend; the cost of membership is $25.00 per person.   Because of space restrictions, only 500 reservations will be accepted.  There is still time to RSVP, but the deadline to register is Thursday, September 21, 2017.!

Parking at the Holiday Inn is $3.00 for the evening. The buffet dinner runs from 6:20 – 7:30 pm. At 7:30 pm., the music begins.

This is a wonderful way for new comers to the area to learn about OLLI, formerly Senior College, and all of the classes and special interest groups it has to offer for anyone interested in learning who is over 50 years old.    If you don’t find something that interests you, maybe you’d volunteer to teach a class or start a special interest group because there are also volunteer opportunities available as well.

This celebration is the first of others that the OLLI 20th Anniversary Committee has planned for the year.  So, don’t miss this first one which will be special whether you are a long-time member or not.  The Fall semester began on September 11 and runs through November 3rd.  Classes are held at the Wishcamper Building, 44 Bedford Street, on the USM, Portland, campus.  Membership runs from July 1st to June 30.
