
Members of the Maine State Nurses Association (MSNA) will hold a rally and press conference at 11;45 am in Augusta this morning. They will be held at the Welcome Center at the capitol.
Following those events, members of MSNA will testify in support of a bill (LD1639) – a bill that would create legally enforceable nurse-to-patient ratios.
Sposored by state senator Stacy Brenner (D-Scarborough), “The Maine Quality Care Act,” will address unsafe staffing of nurses and improve patient care. The bill will have a hearing today in the Labor and Housing Committee’s hearing room at the Maine State Legislature at 1:00 pm.
