The New Emergency Department Entrance at the Fore River Campus.

The new emergency department at 175 Fore River Parkway will open one week from today, Tuesday, January 4, 2022.  The existing emergency department at 144 State Street, Portland, will close the same day according to a press release issued today.

The relocation of the emergency department to Mercy’s newly expanded Fore River Campus will be the final clinical program to move from its State Street hospital, marking the final step in its campus consolidation.  The new emergency department wll feature a dedicated parking lot for its patients, offering quick acces to care.  There will be a new patient drop off for ambulances that is covered and protected from the elements, providing increased safety, convenience and comfort.
