Maine State Police Assisting Buxton Police Department with Non-Life Threatening Assault Investigation

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 3:20 am., the Buxton Police Department received a 911 call for an assault that occurred at 204 Long Plains Road.  Buxton Police, Gorham Police and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded and located a male with laceration wounds.

The male was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The Buxton Police Department requested the assistance of the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit – South.  The circumstances surrounding the assault are being investigated.  There is no danger to the public.  More details will be released as they become available according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety, Augusta.
