On Saturday, December 20, 2025, at approximately 8:46 pm., the Lewiston Fire Department responded to a report of a working structure fire at 146 Grove Street in Lewiston.

Upon arrival, fire officials observed a two-story, single-family, wood-frame residence with heavy fire condtions on the first floor.  Fire crews initiated suppression operations and were able to bring the fire under control.  Following extinguishment, the Office of the Office of the State Fire Marhsal was requested to assist with the investigation.

At this time, no injuries to human life have been reported.  One dog did perish as a result of the fire.  The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.  Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
