The Portland Police Department and Fire Departments, in partnership with Maine Medical Center and Central Maine Power, will hold a joint training exercise on Wednesday, August 16th from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm at 162 Canco Road and 212 Canco Road.

The training exercise will focus on emergency response to an active assiliant incident at a site containing critical infrastructure.  It will involve a simulation of the law enforcement response plan and will help ensure a coordinated, timely and effective response and recovery at the event of a major incident.  Local citizems in tje area may observe heavy emergency vehicle presence as well as local bangs meant to simulate gunfire and other countermeasures.  The local commuity is being notified of the event.

Canco Road will be closed between Reed Street and Holiday Drive starting at 5:00 pm – and will reopen following the conclusion of the exercise at approximately 10:00 pm.  This training exercise is closed to the public.
