Jordan Wood, of Bristol, Announced Last Night on “The Last Word” Cable News Show that he is Running for Senator Collins (R) Seat Next Year.

Jordan Wood (D) announced late last night on the cable news show – “The Last Word” –  that he is running for the Senate seat currently held by Senator Susan Collins (R).  Wood, currently of Bristol, said that although Senator  Collins has expressed concern about the tariffs that President Trump has imposed on most nations around the world, except for Russia, that “concern” is not enough.  A native of Lewiston, Wood formerly served as Chief of Staff for former Representative Katie Porter, (D) of California.  As a former DC Senate staffer myself, I know this experience is incredibly valuable.

A survey just released revealed that a majority of Maine voters believe that Senator Collins should not be returned to office in 2026 when her current term expires.  “Although she brands herself as a moderate, she votes straight Trump,” charged this blogger.  “It’s less about what she says than how she votes.”

On Tuesday afternoon of this week this blogger was finally able to pierce the curtain of silence that greets too many people when calling the Collins DC office.  A spokeswoman for the Senator who refused to admit  whether or not she is a Maine resident because that information is “too personal,” and she was “uncomfortable” disclosing that information, said the following however:  She admitted that  she did not know the status of  the senator’s efforts to meet with HHS Director Robert F. Kennedy, Jr as she has stated previously she was working on and for whom she voted.  She did not know how her fundraisig effort was coming in order to raise funds to replace NIH which the Convicted Felon Trump administration has dismantleld.  She did not know where the Senator stood on the most recent scandal involving Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his communications scandals of classified information that could put the lives of members of the military in jeopardy, she said predictably:  “I don’t know.”

When asked why the Senator doesn’t host town hall meetings like many of her colleagues to give constituents an opportunity to learn more about her views on important matters, the spokeswoman for the Senator stated:  “The level of incivility is often more than high.”  And she added it can be “very difficult for reserved people to be heard in large groups.  She prefers to meet with 3 to 6 people at a time.”  When I asked the staffer if her comment about “reserved” people not being heard at group meetings was a projection of herself,  she said:  “We know who you are” and she hung up the telephone.

Now THAT’S  personal!

Senator Collins Washington, DC office phone number is 202-224-2523.
