Jetport Update on National Flight Restrictions

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that starting Friday, November 7, 2025, the FAA would be limiting air traffic into 40 high volume markets. In an Emergency Order issued on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the FAA rolled out a tiered reduction progam requiring reductions.  Following the US Government reopening last night, an updated Emergency Order was issued freezing the flight reductions at 6% until further notice.

The Jetport has non-stop service to 15 markets that are included in the order.  Through the first six days of flight restrictions, the Jetport has experienced the following operations:  414 scheduled flights; 122 flight delays (29.47%) and 36 flight cancellations (8.70%).

“We are pleased to see the US Government is reopening,” said Paul Bradbury, Airport Director.  “While it is great news that our federal partners will be receiving paychecks soon, the operational impacts of national flight restrictions will continue until the FAA determines it is appropriate to rescind the emergeny order,” he continued.

Passengers are encouraged to check flight status with their airline before heading to the airport.  All airlines serving PWM have issued travel advisories allowing passengers to change flights to later dates or receive a retund if flights are cancelled.  Continuing updates and a complete list of airlines and links to their government shutdown impact websites is available at www.portlandjetport.org
