On March 2, 2026 at 3:50 am., officers from the Portland Police Department responded to 1 City Center for a report that a security guard had been severely assaulted.  The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment.  The incident was captured on security cameras, allowing officers to obtain a photo and description of the suspect.

At 5:21 am., the suspect was located on Marginal Way and taken into custody without incident.  The suspect, Daniel Nobel, 31 and homeless was transpoted to the Cumberland County Jail following multiple charges, including aggravated assault.
