On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 5:27 pm., a Portland Police officer was patrolling the area of Congress Square Park, when he recognized an individual that had multiple warrants out for his arrest.  The officer approached the individual and took him into custody without incident.

Police arrested Kabir Geiger, 46, homeless, for 18 outstanding warrants.  He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.

Six different agencies had warrants for Geirer’s arrest.  Four of the arrests were for felonies, including robbery.  There were also 19 separate drug-related charges.

When asked if the Portland Police Department knows what percentage of those arrested are homeless, the Department’s spokesman said:  “No.”  This blogger would like to know that percentage.
