Governor Mills Recognized Recipients of Business Awards for Business Excellence Earlier This Month

Four companies from across the state of Maine were awarded Goverrnor Mills 2024 Governors’ Awards for Business Excellence at the Blaine Hour earlier this month.  The four businesses so honored on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 were Maine Beer Company, Sargeant Corporation, Panolam Surface Systems & WEX.

Maine Beer Company won the Innovation Award; Sargent Corporation won the Rural Revitlization Award; Panolam Surface Systems won the Heritge Industry Award and WEX won the cCimate Leader award according to the press release issued by the Governor’s office earlier this month.

Since its creation by former Governor John (Jock) R.  McKernan Jr. in 1991 these awards have recognized and celebrated Maine businesses with a high level of commitment to their community, their employees and to exemplary performance in the manufacturing or service performances.  This year awards were given in celebration of Maine businesses that consistently strive for excellence, even during global challenges.

I thank them and their employees for their work to make Maine the best place in the nation to live, work and raise a family,” said Governor Mills in part in her statement.
