Governor Janet T. Mills (D) has announced this evening that state offices will close at 1:00 pm tomorrow, February 6, 2025.  The early closure is because of a messy afternoon commute that is expected due to winter weather.

Maine is forecasted for a wintry mix – including snowfall accumulations of 3 to 5 inches – starting early afternoon and into the evening.  A glaze of ice may form on top of the snow.  These conditions are expeced to make for a challenging and messy commute on roads and highways.

“I encourage all Maine people to exercise caution and stay safe during the Thursday afternoon commute – and as always give plenty of space to plow trucks and first responders working to clear the roads and keep us safe,” said Governor Mills in the press release issued early this evening.
