FREE tours are being offered this evening (until 8 pm) and all day tomorrow (Thursday) on the “pirate ship” Raw Faith. The ship is really a 300 – ton replica of a galleon built by George McKay, Addison, Me. Captain McKay invites the public to come aboard the ship where he will give you a personal tour of the Raw Faith.
The boat is currently tied up at a dock at Portland Yacht Services on the waterfront. You may access it from PYS or along the bike path that runs past it.
Raw Faith was built in Addison, ME. by George McKay. He’d never built a boat before nor sailed one. Construction was begun in 1999 and finished in 2003. McKay’s goal is to provide free sailing on Casco Bay for families and those who are wheel-chair bound this summer.
