The public is invited to attend a panel discussion on racism, diversity and inclusiveness on Thursday, September 1, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 at Reiche Elementary School, Portland. (Reiche Elementary School is located at 166 Brackett Street, on the West End of Portland.) The event is hosted by the Portland Democrats.
The forum will be moderated by Danielle Conway, dean of the U Maine Law School. Dean Conway will be joined by seven panelists from our community, including Rev. Kenneth Lewis, Rachel Talbot-Ross and others.
The seven member panel will discuss the Governor’s latest outrage and steps we can take to hold him accountable, as well as the broader issue of racism in Maine.
After the panel, the public is invited to continue the discussion at Local 188, Congress Street, Portland, a popular restaurant and bar.
So far, the only federally elected official from which mhn.com has heard from was US Rep. Chellie Pingree (D). US officials King, Collins, and Poliquin have not issued statements so far. No elected officials from the City of Portland have issued a statement on Governor LePage’s latest vulgar statements to state representative Drew Gattine, (D) from Westbrook last week. WHERE ARE OUR ELECTED CITY OFFICIALS ON THIS? HIDING?
Please see Post # 2,702, dated August 28th, herein, for US Rep. Pingree’s statement on Governor LePage’s recent vulgar outburst.
