One of the Self Serve Wine Stations at Angoor, 100 Fore Street. That Opened Earlier This Week.

Angoor, the first self serve wine bar in Maine, had its grand opening on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 100 Fore Street in the WEX building.  It’s been packed ever since.

Curiousity about this new concept in Maine is probably one draw.  But once inside the light and airy attractive interior, the senses take over.  The welcoming atmosphere is created partially by lots of glass – probably provided by complex owner Jeff Cohen who owns a commercial glass company.

There are 32 different wines for patrons to select from.  Patrons are provided with a tab so they can track how much they are purchasing from the eight wine dispensers located around the bar. Patrons can pour themselves  2, 4 and 6 ounce drinks. The couple just married in January 2024 said they have seen similar self serve wine bars in Plymouth, Massachusetts and in Florida.

Bourbon, whiskey, scotch, craft beer, hard seltzer and prosecco are available at the bar.  Currently, no non-alocoholic drinks are available.

Formerly Sangeeta  worked for 23 years for the State of Masschusetts in the Child Protective Service.  Rafael has worked in the food industry including Nestle company.

A menu is available that includes Cheese Boards, Shareables and Sweets.

Angoor is open Wednesday – Sunday starting at 3:00 pm.
