Senator Chris Mrphy (D-CT) Appeared on MSNBC Late this Afternoon.

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) at an Event in Portland Several Years Ago.

This afternoon a Federal judge issued a Stay on Trump’s Budget Memo until Monday.  Interviewed on MSNBC cable news Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) said that Donald Trump is in the process of seizing power by his order to stop Federal funding for all Federal grants and loans effective this afternoon.  He is doing this so he can give money to his billionaire, autocratic friends  Senator Murphy told Nicole Wallace on Cable News.

“For now, the courts have recognized the harm and chaos that this reckless directive from the Trump administration would have caused and issued a temporary stay.  But this fight is certainly not over.  I will continue working to protect  critical programs – and stand up  for the communities that rely on them.  Congress has appropriated these funds that were enacted into law and they must be released without delay,” said Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) in a press release issued following the Judge’s Stay this afternoon.

At 4:59 pm.,  US District Judge Loren Alikham ordered the Trump administration halt the freeze until February 3 when a hearing will be held.  It is believed that 22 states, including Maine, are participating in the lawsuit against the Trump Administration for overreaching his authority as given to him in the Constitution.
