FEARLESS, an organization that works to prevent hate all over the state celebrates its tenth year anniversay at a reception tonight – the celebration runs from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm at the Portland Company, 58 Fore Street on the waterfront.
According to Hill resident, Joanie Kallin, development director, its an advocacy non-profit that responds to bias, harrassment and violence in schools and communities. Joanie said the work her organization does is “so important because many people are using your identity against you and it’s very destructive. With the poor economy, it brings out peoples’ fears more than usually.”
Joanie is a 27 year old graduate of Temple University where she majored in anthropology and Jewish studies.
