At approximately 8:46 pm., on Saturday, September 12, 2026, Portland Police responded to the area of 512 Warren Avenue for a collision involving a motor vehicle and three pedestrians.

A  group of juvenile males were walking on the north side of Warren Avenue towards Riverside Street near the !-95 overpass.  A vehicle being operated by a 48 year old male from Portland was traveling in the same direction.   The initial investigation appears to indicate the juvenile males entered the roadway abruptly and were struck by the vehicle.  A 13-year old male succumbed to injuries on scene.

Portland MEDCU  transported a 14 year old male and 15 year old male to Maine Medical Center, where they were listed as having serious but non-life threatening injuries.  Other juveniles were walking in the group, but were not injured.

The area of Warren Avenue was closed for five hours during the incident.
