Environment Maine Calls for Beach Clean-up on the Eastern Promenade; Saturday

Share

A beach clean-up has been scheduled for this Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 am – until 12:30 pm.  Volunteers will meet at the Cutter Street entrance to the East End Beach.  It is also a demonstration for a ban on polystyrene and part of a statewide event to demonstrate strong support for the State legislature to pass a statewide ban on single-use polystyrene.

While most of us use polystyrene cups or take-out containers for just a few minutes, they last in our environment for hundreds of years.

The clean-up starts at 11:00 am – 11:30 am with speakers.  The clean-up runs from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm.  There is a brief closing to follow.  The event is hosted by Environment Maine.
