If you are available tomorrow between noon – 3 pm, you might want to check out a special symposium on “Egypt Now.”  It’s about the revolution in Egypt and its effect on the Middle East.  The symposium will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, March 1st in the USM Woodbury Campus Center Amphitheater, Portland.  President Selma Botman will be the featured speaker, with a noontime talk on “Emerging Citizenship in Egypt and the Middle East.”  Botman is a scholar of modern Egyptian history who has written three books on the subject.  This event is free and open to the public.

A panel of experts will be on hand to discuss such topcs as the modern history of Egypt, Egypt’s economy, Egyptian soceity, Egyptian women and the US foregin policy as it pertains to Egypt.
