Two individuals at East End Community School (EECS) have tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in 24 close contacts having to quarantine.  Due to the number of staff quaranting, EECS will transition to fully remote instruction for Thursday, December 10 and Friday, December 11.

Due to privacy laws regarding health status, the Portland Public Schools is not able to disclose more specific information about any individuals “testing positive.”

Meals will be available for students at Portland, Deering and Casco Bay High Schools and at Talbot Community School from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday and Friday.  It is anticipated EECS will return to its regular in-person schedule on Monday, December 14th.

The District learned of the positive cases today, Wednesday, December 9 and EECS staff, families and students have been notified.
