Critics of Tyrannical Trump are questioning the motive behind his assassination of the top Iranian general since it was first announced. The Iranian General was assassinated last night at the Baghdad International Airport according to Trump’s announcement. No one in Congress including the Gang of Eight was forewarned of the impending strike, although that has been the norm rather than the exception in recent US history. Trump has claimed all day that the General had “imminent” and “sinister” plans toward Americans.
One of the many questions being asked tonight by many is: Was this action a diversionary tactic from his upcoming Senate trial or based on real evidence?. No one has seen the evidence. Senator Angus King (I-ME) is alleged to have asked to see the “intelligence” that brought us to this attack. More and more members of Congress have joined the call for evidence of the General’s intentions. Congressman Chuck Schumer (D-NY) responded that “the lack of advance notice can lead to hasty decisions,” before he continued his discussion on the upcoming Senate trial on the Senate floor today.
Why now? Does Trump feel weak and vulnerable because of the upcoming trial in the Senate? Does he need to remind world leaders, especially those who laugh at him, here and abroad, of his power? Scrutiny is not a friend of the narcisstic and he can do great harm to those who do not ‘suck’ up to him as he demands. He’s unfit to be President. As Santa Claus, a Democrat, said to this blogger just before Christmas last year, “Get Rid of Him.”
“Qassim Soleimani, Commander of the Iranian Forces was an evil man whose death we do not mourn. Still, this move deliberately escalates conflict with Iran, increases the risk to American lives, and moves us closer to a senseless war without the consent of Congress,” wrote Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) in a press release issued earlier today.
“We need steady, disciplined leadership at this critical time. The President must de-escalate the conflict with Iran, have a concrete plan to protect Americans in the region and engage with Congress going forward.”
James Clapper, in a cable news interview, said that it was ironic that Trump has spent most of his tenure insulting and demeaning intelligence services, but has decided to believe them on this.
Other critics have emphasized that if Trump had not nulled and voiced the Iranian nuclear deal from the Obama era, this potential for World War 111 would not have opened up.
