Many of the Homeless Who Were Camped Out at Ganley Plaza, City Hall, Are Now Living at Deering Oaks Park, Portland.  This Could be a Good Place to Begin with  Inequities, Mayor.

A Racial Equity Steering Committee was established at the Portland City Council’s July 13, 2020 Council meeting.  The Committee will be tasked with developing recommendations to the City Council regarding the ways in which city government should address and respond to institutional racism and structural inequities.

Any members of the public who wish to be considered to serve on this steering committee should send a cover letter and resume to the Mayor’s office no later than 12:00 pm on Monday, August 31, 2020.  Cover letters and resumes can be mailed to Deivy Periana at:  deivy@!portlandmaine.gov or mailed to Mayor’s Office, Attn: Racial Equality Steering Committee, Room 208, 389 Congress Street, Portland, Maine  04101.

Mayor Snyder intends to announce the members of the Racial Equality Steering Committee at the Council’s September 9 meeting.
