Five (5) artists have been selected to participate in a project to decorate public utility boxes in Portland the city announced today.  The artists are:

  1. Kerrin Parkinson – Congress Square Park.  Work began 8/4/16.
  2. Jared Goulette – Cumberland and High Streets.  Work to start 8/15/16,
  3. Katey Carnahan – Cumberland and Franklin Streets.  ‘work begins 8/9/16,
  4. Alicia Uth – Woodflords Street and Stevens Avenue. Start date TBA.
  5. Michael Lewis – Middle and Pearl streets.  Work to start 8/16/16.

The selected artists received a $300. stipend from funds donated to the Portland Public Art Committee.  Artists are responsible for the cost of all materials required to complete and protect their artwork with a clear and washable sealant.

The City of Portland Police Department and the Portland Public Art committee, in conjunction with generous donations from NBT Bank and Port Property Management, announced a call for artists back in June for this project.
