A citywide parking ban has been declared beginning tonight Monday, 2/l/ at 10:00 pm through Wednesday, February 3, at 6:00 am. Vehicles left on city streets after 10:00 pm tonight can be toward at the owner’s expense. If towed, vehicles will be taken to the Ocean Gateway Parking Lot on the East End Waterfront. The city has issued a second press release saying that “parking on the street tomorrow during the day is allowed, if necessary. Towing only occurs between 10 pm and 6:00 am. Should a citywide ban not be needed on Tuesday night the city will update residents.” Cars that are towed will be taken to the Ocean Gateway Parking Lot.
Portland is expected to receive 8 – 12 inches of snow with Nor’easter conditions during this storm with precipitation expected to start falling this afternoon around 4:00 pm. The heaviest snowfall between 9:00 pm tonight through tomorrow afternoon. Dangerous driving conditions are expected and people are encouraged to stay off the roads.
