City Parking Ban Tonight; Some CarnavalME Activities Canceled Today; State Offices Closed Today

The city of Portland has declared a citywide parking ban starting tonight, Friday, February 25 at 10:00 pm through 6:00 am, Saturday February 26.  Vehicles left on city streets after 10:00 pm can be towed at the owner’s expense.

Additionally, Carnaval ME organizers have canceled the 11:00 am – 4:00 pm session today.  However, the 5:00 pm – to 10:00 pm session is still on.  Furthermore, the parking garage at 100 Fore Street will be available for free parking tonight during the parking ban.  Please visit post herein dated February 17, 2022 on the “springish weather” that played havoc with preparation for CaranavalMaine.

Governor Janet T. Mills, (D), the first woman governor of Maine and former AG of Maine, has announced this morning that the State of Maine offices will be closed today.  “With the storm worsening, I am closing State offices today,” said the Governor.  “I encourage all Maine people to drive carefully if you have to be on the roads and please be sure to give plenty of space to road crews and first responders as they work to keep us safe.”
