The Portland City Council will hold a second workshop to further discuss policy solutions related to encampments on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 5:00 pm.  Public comment will be accepted at this workshop.   No remote participation via Zoom will be permitted. The agenda and any relevant backup materials will be published closer to the meeting date.

One proposal the Council will discuss in more detail includes temporarily increasing the capacity in the city’s Homeless Service Shelter (going from 208 beds to 350 beds), making the shelter and wrap-around services accessible to unhoused individuals at encampments this winter.
