The city has declared a Yellow Zone Parking Ban for today, Tuesday, February 2 starting at 10:00 pm through 6:00 am., Wednesday, February 3.  The Yellow Zone parking ban replaces the citywide parking ban that was originally declared for Monday and Tuesday nights.

Vehicles left on city streets within the Yellow Zone after 10:00 pm can be towed at the owner’s expense.  Vehicles are towed to the Ocean Gateway Parking Lot.

The Yellow Zone includes the downtown district boarded Cumberland Avenue, Franklin Street, Commercial Street and State Street.

The city encourages residents already in snow ban parking lots to stay there through Wednesday morning given the current weather conditions.

Mhn.com took a ride from Munjoy Hill down to the Forest Avenue Hannaford Brothers just before noon today.  The roads were mostly bare of snow and very drivable.  The snowfall prediction for the Portland area far exceeded what actually hit the ground!
